Mew-O Backstory
Mystery of the First and Only Cat to Travel to Space
Before the first astronauts set foot in space, scientists used animals to understand the ability to live things to survive the effects of space travel. Many countries, including the US and the Soviet Union, have sent animals into space, mainly dogs, rodents, primates, fish, frogs, spiders, and insects.
In 1963, a cat named Mew-O became the first and only feline to travel to space in a French rocket program. Mew-O was one of 14 female cats plucked from the streets of Paris to undergo a spaceflight training course in preparation for going into space. After enduring months of grueling training, she had permanent electrodes and a unique DNA surgically implanted into her brain to assess neurological activity. Eventually, Mew-O defeated the finalist candidates to be chosen on launch day to board the AG1 rocket. However, the daring cat was reported missing when she fell off the spacecraft in an asteroid collision and got pulled into a black hole.
In 2022, the astronauts from a US spaceship, as part of NASA's program, accidentally discovered a glittering cat floating in space. To their surprise, this cat was identical to the first spacefaring feline that was supposed to be dead 59 years ago. However, this cosmic cat appeared to have a supernatural ability as it could move as fast as the speed of light. After months of tracing down the signals that the cat had left, it turned out that there were approximately 5000 cats as replicants of Mew-O. Though different, they all have a ring of light underfoot in common, representing their power and energy.
Research supports the hypothesis that due to the DNA that scientists had implanted into the cat before sending it into space, Mew-O not only survived but also evolved a gene mutation, allowing it to create replications. More importantly, this mutant cat's average lifespan obviously increased and went above and beyond. The ring of light under their feet also enabled them to send signals to one another from far away and supply significant energy so that they could become physically fast-moving and agile.
With these factors in mind, fresh hope was raised for human beings on the possibility of changing the genetic structure to adapt to the harsh conditions of space and possessing those extraordinary abilities based on the in-depth study of the Mew-O species. Therefore, hundreds of shuttles were dispatched on a space mission to gather these 5000 cosmic cats to usher in a new era of space conquest. So what happened during that mysterious time, and will the experiment to transplant Mew-O's genes into humans succeed? It’s time to embark on a journey of discovery!
